SoCal With The Kids

Blog

I thought to myself.  If I didn’t do it now.  I’ll never be able to.

Lukas still has his wonder and awe but I had to do it for Jakob who’s already 9 and is highly skeptical of Santa (much more the tooth fairy).

We had to go to Disney (and Universal, and Legoland and San Diego Zoo!)

It was their first time in the US so I had to make sure the experience was complete. I brought them to Target, Best Buy, Denny’s and Walmart of course!

McDonalds wasn’t the same for Lukas because the nuggets didn’t come with rice ;-).

I have to tell you though, it’s tough to take care of two kids alone but the trip was everything I had ever dreamed of and more.

Some things I’ve learned:

1.  Baby wipes is like the duct tape for videographers.  You can’t do without it.
2.  Popcorn and churros and snow cones may pass off as lunch on occasion.
3.  Never be embarrassed to tell the GPS – least use of freeways.
4. Don’t hesitate to spend on the kids. Because you don’t when buying gear.
5. Definitely business class next time.
6. Dash all hope of personal shopping. It won’t happen.
7. Learn to bargain. I’ll bring you to Game Stop if you come with me to Gucci.
8. Like my friend Loyd said – Work hard. Play harder.
