They came in droves.

A good contingent of the wedding party came all the way from Ilocos Sur down to the south in Laguna. They couldn't miss the wedding of Gabs, the youngest, the "baby" in the family.

Age notwithstanding, Abel and Gabrielle connected because they were both old souls.  And one of the most obvious manifestations of this was their affinity for music recorded well beyond their birth dates.

Case in point: Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko. Which was their "theme song", which was their bridal march, which was their first dance, which was sung by the person who composed it.  No. Not Sharon Cuneta.  Mr. Rey Valera.

I was gushing silently when we shared the crew room while he was waiting for his turn to perform.

That day for the couple, for their family and dear friends, and for myself, was truly memorable.
