Oh the feels. The feels!
Shoutout out to the name drop. 11. Your Facebook newsfeed is full of friends getting 1. engaged and/or 2. married. Your batchmate Stephanie got married last weekend in Tagaytay and she got Jason Magbanua to shoot her wedding. She has now moved to a fancy-looking condo in Rockwell.
This is not a Valentine’s Day post. Nganga. Iba pala ang plano sa kanya. Over the years, ok naman si Binky sa pagiging single n’ya. Enjoy nya naman ang buhay, may career s’ya, at higit sa lahat, tanggap nya. HIndi siya bitter or umaasa na magkakaroon. Pero dumating si Brian sa buhay n’ya. Yanig. Pwde pa pala kiligin ang isang 40 year old. Pwede pa pala manligaw kahit hindi millenial. Totoong may napapala pala ang mga naghihintay. Binky married Brian last week, after a very long wait. And yes, she was the first and last girlfriend of Brian. Ito ang kwento ni Binky at Brian. Para sa mga nag-hihintay. Manood. Umasa. Magmahal.
Time to binge watch and subscribe!
Finally found a way to make this viewable on desktop and available. Once again, the Same Day Edit of Mikki and Miko. #feels
Man, Cebu is truly one of the most beautiful places to get married in. Crystal and Ronnie, though from San Jose, opted to come home to their roots and tie the knot in beautiful Shangri-la. Major major props to Mr. Hernandez who signed up online to get a license to marry the two. He can give Reverend Al Sharpton a run for his money. He not only quotes scripture but references the late great philosopher Bob Marley. Now that's an exhortation for you. This brought the house down.
Check out Pam hyperventilating before the doors opened at church, it was a rush of emotions for her, a culmination of all hopes, dreams, fears and fulfilment. It was a beautiful moment. One I'm glad we were able to record for posterity. Please enjoy the wedding video of Pam and Mike.
When you're doing the final touches on a sausilicious SDE.
Kreme and Martin - There's this beautiful old church tucked away in the Silang Town proper where Kreme and Martin got married. It was the perfect place for them, low key but with a quiet dignity and beauty. The reception venue where the dinner was held was also not as publicized as some venues in Tagaytay (at least for the moment) but Two Gardens will hold its own vis a vis Angelfields or Hacienda Isabela. The wedding had everything! A tearful processional, an emotional ceremony, a breathtaking garden for the reception AND a wild wild party to end the evening. As soon as the host ended his spiel and the DJ dropped the bass, the place just erupted! DMX still on my mind: Y'all gon' make me lose my mind up in HERE, up in here Y'all gon' make me go all out up in here, up in here
We had a blast of a wedding as 2016 drew to a close. It was in a quaint Christian church in the heart of Malate. Although Christmas was over, the holiday cheer very much still permeated the air. Leslie was a sweetheart, and she's been watching our work since dentistry school. I told her - "So here we are today, I'm making a video for you! With you!, on your wedding day!" Let's make it special.
What's one piece of advice you like to give out but don't necessarily follow. Mine: Don't procrastinate.
Feeling bummed that you're forced to work right after Christmas and just days before another long weekend? Here, watch a wedding video to help you make it through the week. And if you're single and bitter, watch it anyway. Don't be a grinch.
Merry Christmas guys! Easy on the Noche Buena!
Marvin and Gheneva's wedding in Subic was utterly filled with so much fun and so much tears. This video perfectly encapsulates these emotions going up and down. This wedding and video in particularly is close to my heart because Marvin actually is on call as a videographer anytime I need extra hands and a good eye on a shoot. I was absentee Ninong to them (sadly). Watch it, relish it. Truly one of the most heart warming videos we've done in recent memory.
#jmagwillworkforfree Yesterday I had the greatest pleasure and honor of filming the wedding of SPO1 Nikko Gutierrez to April as part of the #jmagwillworkforfree campaign. Over the past months, we've filmed for three advocacies (mostly about children) but yesterday was the first time we did a wedding and the experience was truly amazing. April was the one who sent their story in perfect Filipino prose. #totooatsigurado.View Photo

Steph and Francis’ love story stood out from the pack of most entries sent. It was a treat getting to know them over Japanese and discussing the approach of how to tell their story best via video. It’s essential for us to really get into the meat of the narrative to pick out details and to focus on the essential. A good love story shown on a wedding reveals something about the couple and at the same time, must be entertaining. To create an incredible love story, an incredible amount of research and work must be done. Steph and Francis were worlds apart in background, culture, personality and geography. They couldn’t be any more different. And there’s the rub - what makes them tick? what makes the relationship work? Click play and find out.
The road to where Kim and Edward are now wasn't the easiest. They've been together for 12 years and you could say that theirs was a battle tested relationship. I am mighty happy and proud these two finally tied the knot. Nobody deserves more happiness, peace and contentment, than both of you Kim and Edward. Cheers!

Listening. Perhaps more than camera equipment, more than drones, more than toys, this is the one key "tool" that I employ in filming a wedding. It makes for a much more meaningful story to tell for the couple. We were deep into the ceremony of Macky and Jared in San Antonio and as always, I listened intently to the homily of the priest. The priest was on fire with his that day and his preaching was literally a gold mine. He mentioned a laundry list of songs from different generations from diff artists singing about New York, the place where the couple met. Alicia Keys Frank Sinatra Billy Joel. And boom, that was my light bulb moment. It was gravy when I heard the couple's vows also pertaining to Gotham City. And it all fell into place even before I sat down to edit. Please enjoy Macky and Jared's SDE as much as as I had a difficult but gratifying time creating it.
We absolutely had fun filming Sarah and Peter's wedding in Boracay a few weeks back. It was just such an amazing celebration among close friends and family who flew in from Manila and Australia. It's been a while since I posted a video here and I guarantee you you'll have a great time watching this one. Enjoy!
For the past few months we've been closely working with Miss Possibilities, an organization who's primary goal is to create awareness and promote true consideration and inclusion for children with special needs or are differently abled. The main activity is a "pageant" showcasing the kids' talents and abilities. You have no idea how this "simple" activity impacts the child's confidence and raises the awareness and empathy of all those in attendance. I came into the project with a basic knowledge of children with special needs. The kind that allows me to occasionally post about the campaigns of Target which include kids with DS. Or nod in sympathy to a new parent acquaintance who's son has autism. Through the process of interviewing parents, spending time with the kids in therapy, filming them in their element, breaking bread with them and being a panelist for the activity, I'm glad to say I'm coming out of it with a richer and deeper understanding of both the children and the parents. I could not say it any better than Suz can (head of the org) - "For the next few hours, see past the wheelchairs, different walking gaits, and see how God has perfectly and wonderfully made each child and young adult. We are here to celebrate effort not only abilities. We are here to prove that the word ‘different’ doesn't mean less and the word ‘special’ truly means blessed."
A beautiful wedding film entertains, captivates and moves you. But more importantly, it connects you to people. And its one of the best things that I love about what I do. I have the greatest privilege to preserve these memories, their #Cloud9Moment, to be shared with people who matter to the couple most, wherever they may be. Here's Aleli with colleagues in Calgary watching her wedding film. Absolutely love the smiles here. Umm ladies, there's a patient waiting at the DR.View Photo
Gabbi Garcia Two things she loves - water and music. The beach was the obvious location. But the soundtrack! Maaan, we cooked up something different. We recorded her speaking and singing voice, put it through a blender of effects, sampled it and put it over beats. (Think Diplo, Skrillex, JB). Et voila! Something fresh and different. Full film released on Dec 6. You may abuse the replay button now. #sincerelyGabbi Film:. Jason Magbanua Music: Tim and Co. Men like to promise the moon, the stars, hell, even the galaxy. Men being men of course fail miserably. Much to the chagrin of women. But my friend Sandro, you gotta give it to this guy. He knows and understands married life isn't year-long honeymoons, self washing laundry and dishes, and consistently fat joint accounts. There will be ordinary days. In fact, the ordinary days far outnumber the extraordinary ones. But what he promises Kaye will make you long for your own Sandro.
Very few things send us energy quite the way involved and boisterous bridesmaids and groomsmen do in the wedding preps. Personally, I don't care if it's maingay or magulo. As long as the bride can handle it, we can handle it. And Marj's friends, they were something else. They were dancing and drinking and just cheering for one of the last women standing in their circle. I loved the energy. You can only imagine how this translated to the dance floor in the evening. #turnt
Maine and Alden’s Wedding: Maine, Our Radiant Bride Maine will be Maine. She was bubbly and exuberant. Giddy and excited. But at the same time, there was a quiet calm within her as she readied for the wedding. Believe me, the preps venue was a storm, but it didn’t matter. What mattered was she was ready to walk down the aisle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V10mxU3vSt4
Maine and Alden’s Wedding: Alden. The Dashing Groom The striking good looks are the obvious, but the most prominent thing about Alden is his demeanor - polite, respectful and kind. The man is excited on his wedding day. A bit nervous, but excited. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJvXKEbkNKY
I have a special project I'm working on and super stoked to be doing this again. I know you have incredible love stories to tell and I'd love to hear and read them once again. Share them with me and get the chance to have that story, YOUR story filmed by me and my team. http://tinyurl.com/gurl8z3 Entries until Oct 30 only. Tag your friends!
Thea and Jake. There was a deep down joy in Thea that morning. You could see it in her smile, her giddiness. Jake? He was a bundle of nerves, but it was the good kind - the happy, bumbling, I'm so head over heels for this girl mess. He interrupted the priest twice, eager to say "I do." Doh! Please don't forget to subscribe to my channel! - http://youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=jasonmagbanua
Nadz. Isn't she a beauty? You will love love this magical Same Day Edit of their wedding in San Antonio and Blue Leaf Filipinas. Ahh, those eyes. And please don't forget to subscribe to our YT channel - http://youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=jasonmagbanua
Justine and Archie. It was a lovely afternoon in Silang, Cavite, notwithstanding the traffic and the long, snaking narrow road out of the main highway. The ceremony was beautifully solemn as expected. There's just something about San Antonio de Padua (the low key go-to soshal church in Tagyatay now 😉). But maaan! The cocktails and reception! Craft beer overflowed, endless Jamon Iberico, a churro station! But the killer moment is this - when Archie crafted a one liner perfectly summing up the beauty of the relationship. - The bridge between the "I never thought ofs" to the "I'm glad I did its" is always you."
Hey guys, here's an update to the Every Sole Counts project in Leyte. Our first video appealed to everybody for help and this is the fruit of all that. I thank you. My team thanks you. ESC thanks you and most especially, the kids thank you. #everysolecounts #jmagwillworkforfree
