Be Careful at the Mandarin Hotel Parking Lot

Be Careful at the Mandarin Hotel Parking Lot

Blog

It’s a common thing to say to oneself – “Nah, it will not happen to me.”  But eventually, it will, whatever it is.

Last Friday, September  26th, we were shooting a wedding in Mandarin Hotel.    It was around reception time and we were parked from between 9pm to 12mn at the lot directly in front of the hotel.  It was an evening wedding in Santuario San Antonio hence the late time.

My SUV got broken into.  The rear window, where the spare tire is, was completely ripped off.  Equipment got stolen and the sense of violation sucks.

It only goes to show that bad luck and man’s ill intent can and will strike anytime, anywhere.  Even if it’s in the grounds of a five star hotel.

What can one do?  Nothing apparently, because – “The vehicle owners expressly agree that the hotel shall not be liable for any damage to or loss of the vehicle and/or its contents. ”  Sucks to be me right now.

But now you know, don’t leave anything valuable behind WHEREVER you are parking.   And Mandarin, I’m “kinda” glad it’s the first incident of its kind (according to your security), but I sure do hope it won’t happen again.
