Jade and Michael: Saint James/Fernbrook

I was completely excited when Michael chose an Explosions in the Sky tune for the SDE.  I’m so digging them right now (as evidenced by our recent work).

Everything fell together soooo perfectly for this piece.  The music, the vows, the composition, the edit - and especially the mood.

Enjoy!

I remember In my Facebook stat I was ticking of the VIPs who were in attendance in this wedding.  No less than the President was there.  All of the “presidentiables” who mattered.  And a smattering of showbiz personalities.  Oh there was also this boxer named Manny Pacquiao, I think he’s popular too ;-).

It’s easy to get caught up in the glitz of big weddings.  But really, at the core of it all, it’s two people professing their commitment for one another in front of their loved ones, president or no president.

*NO.  contrary to rumors, there was no tiger in front of St. James that day.

Margaux Dizon and Renren Ritualo: Ikaw

“Ikaw”  is the quintessential Filipino love song.

We’ve been doing weddings for almost a decade and it has been always there.

Margaux wanted nothing else for her same day edit.

Lia and Manolet

It can be said that Manolet has the bestest buddies in the world.  They were inseparable the whole time before the ceremony.

They were wacky and goofing around - until the processional started.

The groom couldn’t contain himself and just let go. (I mean who wouldn’t?  Lia was just plain gorgeous!)

Have a look …

Fun and easygoing - two words perfectly describing Steve and Jecelle.

a stand-up comic priest picking at the couple (jokingly)? - just roll with the punches
band arbitrarily banned at the reception venue? - that’s OK, we can always dance to the dj’s music

It’s all good! The point being - they got married! =)

Nickel and Anthony

I had my birthday bash a couple of days earlier than usual so we took on a wedding the actual day of my birthday.

It was pretty sweet really. I had good friends from Dino Lara shoot with us, Nona Clemente doing the wedding planning and the couple were as warm as long time friends could be.

The day felt really special when at the after-dinner party, Anthony asked the DJ to play a birthday song.

I was red as a lobster from the embarrassment (like the whole Friday’s birthday thing times a hundred) but felt appreciative nonetheless.

Thanks Nickel and Anthony for having us!

Nina and Ted - Same Day Edit from Jason Magbanua on Vimeo.

A couple of weeks ago, Ted and Nina dropped by our Makati office and discussed the music and treatment of the same day edit.

I was blown away when he let me hear an acoustic version of Bloc Party’s So Here We Are (I’m a long time fan).  Us three clicked right away with long conversations about movies (Wes Anderson) and 80s schtick (Electric Blue).

The wedding, despite the 500++ in attendance was really focused on their respective families.  I could see why the couple grew up to be such super nice persons.  Have a great life guys!
