Mitchy and James: Comic relief

Balai Taal, videos, weddings 25 Comments »

Now having done this for a decade I have heard my fair share of vows Romeo can promise Juliet.

There’s -

a.  poetic
b.  in perfect traditional Filipino
c. the kind that makes you tear up
d. the kind that makes you smile
e. traditional catholic ones
f. the kind that’s sung in front of the congregation

There are a handful in our career, that just brings down the house in laughter.

“Nangangako ako na hinding-hindi kita gugutumin.
(I vow to never let you go hungry)

Watch and weep (in laughter).

Lora Gahol and Larry Fonacier

Sometimes, it takes weddings like these to remind you why people get married in the first place.

The ceremony was powerful. Not just powerful powerful. But tiny little kitten hit by a Pantranco Bus powerful.

The moving words expressed and exchanged throughout also reminded me to lock-down and just record, to set aside the money shots and eyecandy, to focus on the essentials and preserve the memory of it all.

For a guy like Larry Fonacier, hardcourt superstar, to say ‘I love you more than basketball‘, now that takes some major cojones. And it made him even bigger than the giant he already is.

And Lora? Lora was vivacious, anxious, excited, accommodating and just really really happy. And let me not forget stunning!

It was harrowing to edit such a piece in a very short amount of time but we had to prevail. The couple was awesome, the venue was spectacular, the weather cooperative and all the people beautiful. We couldn’t deliver anything less.

And as a bonus, Alaska won their game against Air21 on the day of the wedding. =)

Catherine and Carlo Rufino

Hot on the heels of his brother Raymond’s wedding, now it was Carlo’s turn.
Sukob it wasn’t, because Catherine and Carlo were already technically married (civilly).

Catherine wanted it upbeat and happy and was it ever!
