Susan and Jesse: San Jose

Posting some more gems from the last holiday season…

It was a bittersweet feeling for Susan on her wedding day.  Though she was the happiest bride that day, her sister was unable to fly in to attend the wedding.  (thus the tearful phonecall she got during the preps).  We had to make sure every moment was captured for the couple and Susan’s sister.

Aimee and Kendrick: The day after the typhoon.

It was on my Facebook status page last Saturday - you won’t find a more professional bunch than wedding suppliers.  They will be there, come hell or highwater.  And yes, hell and highwater came at the wake of Typhoon Ondoy.

A months worth of rainfall in a day -  and yet every florist, every photographer, every musician and every coordinator I know braved the downpour.  “Just another day at the office”.

Two things of note with the same day edit -

1.  We shot the process by which their invitations were made - laser engraving - kewl!!!  I love the smell of burnt wood in the morning.  They actually own the machine and they can engrave on anything no matter how fine the type or design - even on live cats!  (j/k).

2.  I had to put everything in context so I had to put the newsclips in.

Bring an umbrella!

A Kastila and a Chinoy?  - It could happen!

Here’s the Same Day Edit we created for the couple.  It’s a slow buildup to 2:22.  That’s where it really kicks in.

Enjoy!

Millicent and John: A change of pace

We’ve shot Fr. Gerry Orbos’ homily several times before, but really, the chopsticks bit doesn’t get old.

Here’s the Same Day Edit from Millicent and John’s wedding - an intentionally languid-paced, mostly real-time clip… a breath of fresh air really.

Jasmine and David: Umbrella (not Rihanna’s)

(My friend John Rana of WeddingsatWork has always had a thing for this song.  Well it took me me all of eight months after his blogpost to cave in.)

We were about to leave for Sanctuario de San Jose when the rain came pouring in - an idea popped up.

“Jasmine, I have this ultra rare, never heard of version of Umbrella by Rihanna, let’s give it a go.”

With full trust, she acceded.   It was bonus when I learned later that whenever they would go somewhere, rain would follow.  How’s that for leit motif?
