Jörg and Barbi Chan’s Wedding in Boracay

Boracay, calendar, pictures, videos, weddings 11 Comments »

After shooting on the 30th and 31st lst year, I voved not to take any more beyond the 29th.

But Barbi’s wedding came along and I just couldn’t say no.

It was amazing! Like she said in the video, months back she just visualized her wedding, everybody in white by the beach, the curious thing was, she was out of a relationship then.  But it happened!  And everything was executed Barbi-style! - with flair and elan.

Can a bride actually do her own makeup?
When was the last time you saw a pink and black gown?
Have you ever attended a wedding with a “bridal boat”?  Not a bridal car?
Or witnessed an exchange of oversized heart rings as wedding bands?

Only here folks.

Like most things in this world, the idea started simple enough.

Lots of people call and email me for videography questions, although sometimes late, I try as much to reply to each and everyone.

Three year ago, blogs were al the craze and so I started one with the intention of imparting the kowledge I knew from years of experience of making videos and winging it ;-).

And like most blogs, it died a natural uneventful and un-updated death.

Lightbulb.

I knew firsthand how valuable net forums could be (being active in internationla video forums and the early days of PinoyDVD. Why not convert the blog into a forum for aspiring and professional local wedding videographers?  And why not leverage the power of a community helping out rather than just one peson?

enter the Pinoyvideomaker.com Forum.

It took three years to organize the first eyeball but it was worth the wait. My deepest appreciation goes out to the sponsors, the organizers, the speakers and of course the members who keep the community alive and active.

Here’s Weddingsatwork’s take on the event.

Speakers: Mayad Studios, Dino Lara, Dominic Velasco

Sponsors: WeddingsAtWork, Visions and Ideas, Garry Garza, Nelwin Uy/Fabfoto, MG Digital Video, Write Impression, Fourth Wall, Cecilio Abad, The Makeup Studio, Threelogy, Bob Nicolas, Metrophoto, Jayson Arquiza, Bim and Gen Teocson, Mimi and Karl, (sorry if I missed your name, it’s 4 in the morning)

The WeddingsAtWork 10th Anniversary Party

It was a slow crawl going to Fernbrook in “New Alabang” but it was worth it.

Everybody was dressed to the nines, particulary the wedding suppliers…

(l-r: Oly, Chinkie, Madge, Ernest, Christine)

Of course the highlight of the night was the win of Cecilio Abad as Supplier of the Year for 2008.  Truly well-deserved!

(photo by Oly Ruiz of MetroPhoto)

A mini-highlight for myself was winning the Ipod Nano up for grabs for whoever was voted, ehem, “Star of the Night”.

Must be the shoes … ;-)

But on second thought, it must be my arm candy …

Thanks John and Benz for the wonderful party!  Congratulations to the Top Ten and Five Suppliers!  (special shout out pinoyvideomakers  Bim Teocson and Threelogy!  Woot!)

…when you have the most amazing friends, colleagues and family at your side.

True Faith brings the house down in Beer’s Paradise. (mmmmm, beer!)

(can you spot - fresh from India Randall, Malambing Dino, Rihanna, the odd shaped beer glass, the new member of the makeupstudio, the newest engaged couple, the person who has the beer allergy, Bob “best rock performer” Nicolas, the gay hunk, the jmwv girls, the crossover toast, the mangoboys and the tipsy celebrant?)

Once again, thanks Pang!
