Mia and Carlos: The Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City

There are as many fiestas and festivals in the Philippines as there as islands (7,100 give or take).

One such is the Panagbenga held annually in the summer capital - Baguio City.  What a lovely day to get married on.

Entering the bridal suite, I was smitten by the bride’s morena beauty (and Patrick Uy too!).  I heart my job!

We were freezing in Baguio the morning we came up for Didith and Rob’s wedding.  We really shouldn’t complain as it was hitting minus 20 in Canada where they’re from.

So glad we were able to chill the day after the wedding.  I got my massage and the crew got to go around the ukay.  The kids had strawberry shakes by dinner time and all is well in Magbanua-land.

Here’s something to warm up the folks over at Alberta.

As of this writing we’re right smack in the cool of the Summer Capital for a wedding later at 6. The curious thing is that we were just here last week! Although it’s a bit drizzly, the cooler climate is a welcome break from Manila’s sticky heat.

This piece was from last week’s wedding.

Can I just say everybody was gorgeous that day? From the bride, to the MOTB, to the bridesmaids!

One of the highlights of the day was when the bridesmaids were dressing Kia up. More often than not, It’s suppliers (designer, designer’s assistants, coordinators) that are mulling over the bride during this sequence of events. See how much personal and dynamic things become with your friends instead.

The wedding was at the Cathedral and reception followed at the Baguio Country Club.

No rest for the wicked ;-).

Right after Lia’s wedding, we heighed off to Baguio to shoot Pat and Ian’s wedding.  It was fortunate that theirs was a 6pm wedding.  Plenty of time to catch some zzzs.

The wedding, following through with the  theme of the engagement pictures, was peppered by all things Japanese.

The same day edit song they chose, conversely, was American Rock and Roll - as carefree and fun as the couple were.

Random notes:
They had the funkiest wedding bands.
Frou-froued headgear everywhere.
Husband and wife tandem Claire and Rikki Diokno took care of hair and makeup.
Randall and Rex of Mangored was in their A-game that day.
Edgee Zarsadias from La Union also shot as well.
We had the most fantabulous response to our SDE  in recent history. everybody was cheering and shouting. - EVERYBODY!

Oh, there was a mumu in the cottage we were housed in.

It’s been a crazy crazy March so far. I cannot ever recall traveling to so many places in such a short amount of time.

March 3, 4, 5 we were in Cebu for a wedding. Shot RJ’s wedding till midnight Friday and went up to Baguio right after. Drove down straight to the airport after the Baguio wedding to catch another flight to Cebu for Sunday’s wedding. Went home Monday only to leave Tuesday for today’s wedding in Bacolod. We’re gluttons for punishment.

Now check out this clip from the Baguio wedding. It was a specially requested video commissioned by the couple to be shown before they entered the reception area. Pang edited this one … let’s give her some love!!!
