Weekdays are usually reserved for client meeting and going out with the kids at Power Plant mall to catch a movie or play at he arcade. Once in a while though we get booked for weddings, quite surprising really.
Weekday weddings happen mostly during December and January. We shot this one Tuesday in April.
As they say, better to earn than spend
I was so in the zone for this one that I forgot to ask why they chose the date. Note to self: Must ask Rae.
We were absolutely baking in the church during the ceremony!
Not because of the heat but we were truly cooking up something special for Nat and Grace. Served piping hot and fresh during the reception. Bon Apetit!
Everybody was scrambling to get out of Manila last Holy week. I on the other hand eagerly anticipated some time with the new plasma we got specifically for bridal shows. My head hurt from all the DVDs I watched.
Legion
Planet Hulk
Go
Amores Perros
The Island
Smoking Aces 2
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
Up in the Air
Loved Up in the Air the most. Everyone in the cast was just perfect. The movie-simple yet deeply moving.
Finally caught Amores. Classic Alejandro González Iñárritu - the story arc, the compositions, the grit the “real-ness”. He did the same thing in Babel of course, hope he’s not a one trick pony.
At this wedding, so much was happening all at once all the time.
I suppose that that is the task at hand for me as the person in charge of documenting the event.
To distill the most relevant and most engaging aspects of the wedding
To string together a seemingly endless array of events to form a cohesive whole
To be able to interpret these events using our skills and our art
…and present them in the most captivating manner possible.
Funny. People who don’t know any better think we’re just the “videoguy”.
EDIT: I was getting a lot of feedback regarding the way I wrote the closing statement. To clarify -
the statement was not intended for anybody in particular, nor was it resultant of this particular wedding.
It was simply a statement of fact perhaps to spark discussion.
My deepest apologies to anybody who was slighted.
As I said to Chitine’s mom in an SMS, their family was the sweetest, kindest I have worked with. To say otherwise would have been farthest from the truth.
