Carla (Rica) Peralejo and Joe Bonifacio’s Same Day Edit from Jason Magbanua on Vimeo.

How does a pastor write his own eternal promise of commitment?
How does an actress, who has been delivering lines from a script all her life write hers?

The media, both online and off, will give details about the entire event - the  wedding gown, the menu, the place cards and the celebrity ninangs.  I’ll leave them that.

Though here are my musings and observations of what the reporters may have missed:

It’s not everyday that a bona fide celebrity actress/host/singer opens the door for you in her unshowered glory, but nonetheless as radiant and as beautiful as she is in full glam.

Friendly would be an understatement. Carla (her real name) was genuinely warm and disarmingly charming. You know she’s great company because she never censors her big hearty burst of laughter very close to a baritone.

Joe is a contradiction. He can quote Nietzsche and Twain off the cuff, all the while never letting go of the attack button on his PSP. Have I mentioned? He’s a pastor for Every Nation too!

The day started with the two perfecting their respective vows, on beaten down macbooks, pencil and paper. I could perhaps use the word agonizing, but they really weren’t. They just wanted their vows perfect.

Joe skipped lunch altogether and had a quick bite (courtesy of Josiah’s Catering) right after arriving at the ceremony venue in Kawayan Cove.

The bride’s villa was filled with alternating rounds of shrieking and laughter care of her nieces and friends - pure positive energy.

Laughter turned to tears of joy when the ceremony started. The breathtaking backdrop of sea, sand and rock was a befitting stage for the exchange of promises.

Everything was perfect. Everything was beautiful.

(major thanks to Ian and Alvin who was with me on the shoot!)
