Bianca and Ralph

San Agustin Church, videos, weddings 13 Comments »

I actually owe a lot to Ralph.  We met weeks before their wedding and the subject matter digressed to comicbooks.  He turned me on to the latest Green Lantern story arc - Blackest Night and its preludes.  I immediately picked up a copy of the Sinestro Corps War.

It was totally “un-put-down-able” and was the best comic book I read all year and eagerly anticipated Blackest Night.  It truly did what a great comick book did - take you away and leave you breathless.

I digress.

Ralph put a lot of thought to hi music selection for this Same Day Edit.  It’s original music video was nothing short of genius and so the video had to keep up.

Here’s their SDE - watch Ralph take Bianca away and leave her breathless.

ReFrame: San Francisco II

Industry, news, whatnot 12 Comments »

It was all work in San Francisco for me last week.  It was totally different being just a speaker to being part of the ReFrame Collective, (planning, organizing, skyping, budgeting, emailing people no end).  I guess I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Work it was but seeing everything coming into fruition, and hearing the responses from the attendees made everything well worth it.  A very special thanks goes out to my partners and Julie, Kristen and Bruce for inviting me to be part of the experience.  You cannot even begin to imagine how much time, effort and finances went into this project.

The best ReFrame ever!  That’s what we promised and that’s what we delivered.

Thanks to all the press, sponsors and of course, the attendees who trusted us.  We hope you had as much of a great time as we did.

_______

I kinda purposely didn’t go out as much to explore the city.  Same story last April.  Makes for all the reason to go back and enjoy this beautiful city for once.

On the last day, however, I was able to go to my new favorite place on earth - Rasputin - to pick up a couple of DVDs.

Can’t wait to watch this -(The MIndscape of Alan Moore)

Isabel and Andrew

Magallanes Church, videos, weddings 22 Comments »

Regina del Rosario (the maid of honor)  said it best during the pre-production meetings - Isabel and Andrew are the sweetest, nicest couple ever - she was on the ball on that one.

Getting married was the cake, but for Andrew, chanicing upon Manny Pacquiao during the preps was the total icing (as big as the cake).  Although it’s arguable if Sean (the best man) had a greater moment with Manny.

You have to check out how Zenas Pineda set up the Magallanes Church.  I love the drama!

I promised Andrew to do some vodka shots with him after all the work.  He’s such a nice guy you couldn’t say no to - we did four!  (along with MangoRyan and MangoRex).

Ellie and Benny

Manila Cathedral, videos, weddings 3 Comments »

I knew Ellie from way back.  So far ago that I get embarrassed when I get asked how much we charged then as  compared to now.  (That’s what happens when you get two lactose intolerant kids - soyamilk is so much much more expensive ;-)).

Fast forward to 2009, after several other friends in their clique have already been married, now it was Ellie and Bennie’s turn.

It was interesting to see table names identified as 80s pop stars (which was their theme) - Madonna, Wham, Michael Jackson etc. =)

Thanks for having us guys!  It’s such an honor to have been doing your circle for so long now. =)

Grace and Laurent: Hawaii, Redux

(An SDE in HD)

Twice in Waikiki in four weeks?  Crazy right?  Well we were never known for our sanity.

You then realize how Hawaii is a favorite destination wedding location - the perfect weather, the laid back vibe and the kind and gentle people.

Friday morning.  It was chaos entering the bridal suite.  A good kind of chaotic - the happy, excited anxious, let’s rock this joint kind!

The groom preps were no less frenetic.  With the cute bearers almost upstaging the groomsmen (as you will see in the video).

We shot in the same church as before - St. Agustine, but this time around, we had the dinner-party at the breathtaking Lanikuhonua.

Thanks for having us guys!

We had the wonderful opportunity again to work with Randy Panado (colourcraftmedia) and Joel Campos (StudioRed). And of course, It was lovely to shoot alongside Hawaii’s finest photog - Frank Amodo.

This is turning out to be real awesome experience.

We got some always welcome friendly faces but lots of new blood as well. (I’m blown away that we have a pretty sizeable Fil-Am contingent from the West Coast).

The learning is intenese and the nights out even more so.

Check out Philip Bloom’s video of the event - composed mainly of stills using the 5/7D.

Jill and Gian

This video is as much about a daughter and son’s love for their parents as it is a bride and groom’s for one another.

And oh, what’s the first thing Gian says during his vows to Jill? - “I love your dress.” Awwwww.

Their same day edit -
