Sheila and Greg: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
weddings June 29th, 2008Having spent college in a school in Katipunan Avenue, it piqued my interest no end whenever I passed by the Mormon Temple along White Plains. What did they do in there? Call it dumb Catholic ignorance.
And so I was very excited in shooting my very first Mormon wedding last weekend.
Greg explained to me that nobody else was allowed to enter the temple and witness the ceremony. I was antsy as to what to put in the SDE.

That said it was great that they decided to hold another “ceremony” just before the reception. It was a simple vow and ring exchange. Being Filipinos, they felt the need to share the moment with the guests even though that actual ceremony did not have any legal or religious bearing. It was a great sequence to put between when they got inside the temple and when they went out.
I also learned that getting wed in the main temple was essential to a Mormon’s faith. It would ensure that that man and wife as well as their children will still be together even in the afterlife.

Here’s their Onsite Video.

I was at Greg and Sheila’s wedding reception. You did a fantastic job with the onsite video. The ethereal quality of the fiished product really reflected the eternal nature of their wedding.
P.S. The correct name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Beautiful! The most anticipated wedding captured dramatically and so wonderfully in this videography. It still leaves me to tears!
wow great experience sir jason…
Thanks Leni! I corrected the blog post title.
Your video is amazing! I thought that your use of sepia tones in some scenes were especially fitting and contributed to the story. Well done.
Jason - As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a fellow wedding cinematographer in New York, I applaud your work for creating a great SDE without the ceremony. This piece brought out the beauty and purity that represents a temple wedding.
Just one word … DRAMATIC ! well done …!!!
When I saw the video I said: “And the shots in the church, were are?… ’cause I not have seen the title:
