Cebu Pacific Sucks!
opinion February 29th, 2008The story of flight 5J904, originally scheduled at 515pm, Feb 29 from Caticlan to Manila:
1. You cancel the flight without notifying us.
2. You rebook us for an earlier flight which eventually gets cancelled after you let us wait for 2 hours.
3. You give us nary an apology and wait at the 11th hour to inform us. You ASSURE us a plane is waiting in Kalibo.
4. You herd us into a bus to Kalibo for a 90 minute ride we wanted to avoid in the first place.
5. Surprise! After the busride from hell - NO FRIKKIN’ PLANE BACK TO MANILA!
Cebu Pacific, you suck! If you can’t handle the Caticlan runway then don’t and save your passengers the torture.

YOU SAID IT! They suck! They did almost the same thing to us last Jan. TWICE! On the way there and on the way back to Kalibo! delayed flight, no communication, waited for 5 hours.. then CANCELLED! Ok the weather was crap.. but guess what.. PAL and ASIAN Spirit eventually got to take off and land.. but CEBU PACIFIC….NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Cebu Pacific Sucks big time!!!
We, Jesy & I, had a prenup in Ilocos 2 weeks ago. On our supposedly trip back to Manila with the couple, Jom & Myrna, we arrived at the airport an hour before the flight at 1:30pm, which was the only flight of Cebu Pacific for the day (actually they only have one flight every day). We were already in line at the check in counter and then they turned the sign from open to close. We have already checked in our baggages then the person behind the counter told us that they only have 3 seats left. What?!?! How did that happened?!!! We booked our tickets way back and then we won’t get to all ride the plane?!?!?! We were there earlier than 45 minutes before the flight and we don’t get our seats!?!?!
Anyway, to make the story short, we tried to fight our way but to no avail, Jom & Myrna decided Jesy & I go ahead & they wait for the PAL flight at 7pm, and they get to have a free flight of the same amount anytime within a year.
What happened was they book more than the plane’s capacity and then suddenly at check in it becomes a first come first serve basis. If everyone comes in on time (like what happend to us), unahan na sa seats! What the F*** happened to booking early and reserving your seat!?!? Cebu Pacific sucks big time!

That sucks. Planes packed like sardines, PHP 50 for a cup noodle (I buy it for PHP15 at the supermarket!), Playing inflight games for a rubber sun visor… Yep, the pleasure and agony of budget travel.

I very well Agree…
Here’s our story…
We recently experienced a terrible problem with our flight to Singapore on February 16, 2008. We were told to get assistance from Cebu Pacific when we had a misunderstanding with the Immigration Officer at NAIA terminal. We went to the Cebu Pacific Desk to ask help but instead of asking us for some details - this Supervisor (Jhona De Leon) took our boarding pass, tore a portion of it and called the crew to OFF-LOAD our baggage. It was so fast - I believe my eyes opened the widest since I was born. I was so surprised, begged this person, I never even care how pitiful i look at that time - but as if this person (Jhona De Leon) never heard a word we were saying at that time. She wouldn’t want to help us – FOR SURE!. I was even the one to ask if I could talk to immigration again which I did and Immigration was letting us In at that time. But of course we don’t have our boarding pass and so we were trying to get it from Jhona but she was delaying things and was making irrelevant suggestions we should do. She told me and my Fiancé that when she called the airline crew to Log Off our baggage, Our Seats was immediately taken by chance passengers. Why would she do that??? We were so early to arrive in the airport to avoid any hassles and to have more time to resolve any hassles should there be any. Is it because our Airline Ticket was on a promo deal which was Cheaper compared to that of what might the Chance Passengers has to pay? This person has no heart at all I tell you. I was so mad at that time I wanted to KICK her Pregnant Stomach so that she could get a taste of the pain I was feeling ( I’m happy I was able to control myself and not regret further should I have done that part). She even instructed me to talk to the Immigration Officer to tell her to Off Load two passengers (I guess that would mean - denying two Passengers) so that this supervisor could let us back to the passenger lists. That was NOT POSSIBLE of course - It has to be carried out by the airline staff. I had to run back and forth to relay their messages to each other which could have been resolved easily if only she really wanted to help. They have working phones and radios if she was sincere to let the Immigration Officer be informed about what she suggested. And hello?, who is the better person to explain her suggestion but she herself. Has she not seen that It was an urgent concern that she can ask one of her staff to tell the Immigration Officer about it. I believe that suggestion of asking the Immigration to Off-load 2 passengers to give way for us was really not necessary at all. It looked like everything was a game for this Person. Bottom line, She claims that our baggage could not be loaded back since it was taken out already, it was short of time,…Short of Time whaaaat??? She just told me that it was possible if Immigration Officer would Deny two passengers for our slot to be back. Hello??? Jhona De Leon,,, we are talking in your airline booth just next to the Check in Counter of our supposed to be flight and there is STILL a LONG LINE of passengers with their luggage being loaded in the conveyor…Her alibis are not really convincing but we were powerless at that time…This was a long waited vacation we planned after Our Switzerland Vacation last 2003…But we missed it…My brother, my mom and my niece was waiting for some medicines they needed. I even had a nebulizer machine that would help my niece with her health concerns…But all came to nothing because of some Very Poor Customer Service by an Incompetent Staff Named (Jhona De Leon)…I e mailed Cebu Pacific(customerservice@cebupacificair.com )as well with my complaint but never received a reply… Cebu Pacific does Sucks!

why should you take a flight to caticlan anyway. kalibo is just less than 90 minute bus ride away with an domestic/international airport that caters to airlines (with bigger planes like PAL, Cebu Pacific, etc.) that has daily scheduled flights that are on time except during bad weather. go the kalibo route by plane when taking a vacation trip to boracay.

– Are you from cebupacific??? You’d rather waste your 90 minutes riding in a cramped van? If people want to go to Caticlan directly, let them be.

hi,
i bought a ticket in june. my creditcardcompany paid them immediately. but cebupacific still said, the CC is delined, which is 100% not true. so i wrote them (with copy of my creditcardcompany statement) around 6 mails. but so far, they did not answer. i tried to call them, no chance to get through. i tried mails direct via their website, but no answer also.
so, my flight is confirmed, but - according to CebuPacific - its declined. i guess, when i want to fly, they just dont let me fly.
1 month no answer. its not right what they do
regards,

SHaring with you the letter i sent to their incompetent management and some media contacts:
Skipping the BS, I would like to go straight to the point: I am seething with indignation about Cebu Pacific’s refund procedure. I refunded my ticket with reference code EMXC14 (Manila-Jakarta-Manila) amounting to 8,304.00 back at the start of 2008, and was told that it would be processed in 2-3 months, and that it will automatically be credited back to my credit card. Its AUGUST and after numerous follow-ups, I am fed up with the dodgy answer “it’s being processed”.
I have incurred interest way beyond value I was supposed to have “saved” by deciding to fly with Cebu Pacific. The customer service rep (a certain Louvelle) made me wait for more than 30 minutes on the line because my record cannot be located, and being given yet another “its being processed”, she gives me the number of your finance department (8522328, go on try it), which seems to DROP ME AUTOMATICALLY after ringing for some time. And FYI, only within my circle, I know two other people who are growing mold with waiting for their refund, being given the same spiel over and over again whenever inquiries are made, so I’m sure there are thousands nationwide who are as equally frustrated as I am. This is a bad case of resting on their laurels, and the way Cebu Pacific handles their customers have gotten from plain bad to downright crap. I am through with following published procedure that is a pure waste of time which yields absolutely no result other than making my blood pressure shoot up.
I am terribly, terribly disappointed about how the management handles and treats inquiries and complaints. I started out as a loyal customer but after so much hassle I have decided never to voluntarily fly with the airline unless it is company mandated. I would much rather swim. I hope this complaint is duly noted and my fare refunded otherwise I swear to God I will make it my life’s mission to embark on a PR campaign to bring this to light.
BTW, you wanna know what a growing number of customers think about Cebu Pacific? http://www.marketmanila.com/archives/cebu-pacific-youre-so-daing#comment-126844
