Here’s the lowdown so far, we got six awards at last night’s Artistic Achievement Awards including THIRD, SECOND and FIRST PLACE in the Same Day Edit (Onsite Video) category. AWESOME!!!!
Fast forward to tonight and I’m waiting for boarding on a flight to San Francisco then to Orlando, Florida.
Life Lesson #4: If you want it that much, never take no for an answer.
I’m scheduled to be a guest lecturer at 4EG’s Video ‘08. Here’s the news tidbit about it. The Artistic Achievement Awards Banquet will be held on the first night as well as the awarding of this year’s EventDV25. I’m not crossing my fingers too much (we’ve been so lucky and blessed as it is) but bringing home a couple of trophies would be nirvana.
Our deepest gratitude to everybody who prayed and supported this endeavor.
*Glad to tell you that we are the number one referring supplier site to Weddings at Work … the country’s premiere wedding site.
I’m happy to throw some love back to the site which propelled our career to such great heights. Here’s the rest of the list.
*Showing you some pictures taken by MangoRed. We’ll be using the images in conjunction with some big big news we’re breaking in the next couple of days so stay tuned. Thanks to Alan, Ryan and Randall - this is a badass set.
Yep, that’s what’s on their invite regarding dress code. And the guest came, ready to rock, ready to roll! It was a sight to see the gentlemen in their suits paired with sneakers (mostly Chucks), including a Ninong.
The wedding bands were left in Laguna and nobody else would be able to return for it. Any other bride would raise hell over it, and understandably so, but not Cathy - “Ok, let’s just use our favorite rings and have the bands blessed some other time.”
So they ended up with a skull ring and the bride’s ring with some lipstick on the inside.
It was tradition for Dante’s barkada to ride with whoever’s getting married to the church. By ride, I mean - in full metal glory. Vespas, Harleys and numerous other bikes filled the parking lot of Santuario de San Antonio.
That’s all that’s left sometimes of the wedding day. Loose, joy-filled fragments of the event you took so long to prepare.
That is why it is imperative to document that special day. Not to supplant the images in your mind, but to augment it. After all, memories fade, data on optical discs and properly backed up - does not.
2007 was a landmark year for us what with the awards and recognition received internationally. But moreso, It was the year that wedding videography in the country flourished and came out of the shadows of photography. My good friend Bob Nicolas had his breakout year and Buddy Gancenia bagged first place in the Sony Wedding Video Competition. Mervin Gobaco snuck a couple of awards at this years WEVA awards as well as Imacron. Pinoyvideomakers Rock!
*edit: what a gross oversight! The Threelogy camp is going strong and still was voted into the Top 10 in this year’s W@W Awards.
It’s a good time to be a videographer.
Before the year ended we managed to move to a bigger office (still at the same building though). The move was costly, money and time wise but it was a necessary to the growth of the company. Oh, we became an even bigger family with the addition of younger breed to the team. We all had a hard time fitting into Unit 6 so we appropriated Unit 23 for ourselves. I’ll post pictures soon.
Marketing efforts have been full blast so we’re almost fully booked for 2008.
There were some disappointments and missteps along the way, perhaps associated with growing pains. But the good thing about mistakes is that you can learn from them.
And what’s the new year without fireworks? Here’s a clip with generous doses. Happy New Year Everybody!
