Angela and Terence

Another Sunday Morning, another wedding. It took quite some time for us to decide on the song to use as the Bride and Groom were unsure themselves. Everything from George Michael to Beyonce to the Beatles was considered. I was this close to using We Belong together by Mariah Carey. Fortunately, we guesstimated a Maroon 5 song for use on the SDE. It was a hit so see for yourselves. Watch it now.

The New Rigodon - Manila Pen

We had the distinct pleasure of shooting at the New Rigodon Ballroom at Manila Pen last Nov 25. Our wedding, quite fortunately, opened the balllroom after several months of renovation. The facelift was total - from the wood panels to the higher ceiling to the larger foyer area and the new chandeliers. Of course any venue is only as good as it’s stylist. Jun Hen masterfully created the look for Erika and Nick’s wedding.

My first foray into YouTube.

Andrienne and Jon: I’ve had the Glide of My life

A Wednesday wedding featuring spectacular glides during the march of the bride. The Onsite Video features a favorite song of the couple, Breathe Me by Sia.

The wedding was wonderfully intimate, abounding in personal touches. The invitation was actually a faux airline ticket. Check out the emotion filled vows at the end of the MTV.

Minerva picked the song for this Onsite Video. It was ethereal. It was lilting. It was romantic.

Simply just a beautiful wedding. From the Patrice gown, to the DL pictures to the sentiment and emotion just overflowing throughout the day.

We experimented with a bit of cross-processing this time.

who bore our two beautiful children, Lukas and Jakob.
who designs our fantabulous DVD menus .
who makes sure I take my vitamins everyday.
who rivals my mad skillz in editing.
who takes on the tedious job of number crunching at the office.
who looks gorgeous without even trying.
who’s always been there from my darkest lows and greatest triumphs.
who’s stuck with me for the last seven years.
Happy Birthday Pang!

Of Preschool and Zoolander

Jakob is in kindergarten.  He just turned 5 last November 11.
Before the sembreak, we received an evaluation of our son’s performance in school. I am utterly amazed by a preschool teacher’s patience, understanding and optimism.

Here are some excerpts of the said evaluation and a crazy father’s annotation (italics mine).

Jakob is a very energetic and active boy. His gross motor skills are well developed (just a few shy steps away from ADHD). He shows balance of in use of large muscles. He can lift up a wooden chair with one hand (which does wonders to show who’s boss over the other kids.) He socializes with everyone. He is a jolly greeter. (win ‘em with your killer smile son).
He is a smart learner but he has a short attention span. He shows signs of an analytical and critical mind but he finds it hard to maintain focus on activity (not when Ben Ten and the rest of Cartoon Network beckons).
He has innate brilliance (ehem!).

God Bless Kindergarten Teachers!

Here’s Jakob in Blue Steel mode.

Shy and Martin: Massive Attack on the Senses

It was our first time to shoot in Lakeshore and we made the most out of it.

I was given a free hand choosing the SDE song so I used something that’s always beckoned me but I always felt it wasn’t the time and place for it. November 4 is the time, Pampanga was the place for Teardrop.

I’m especially proud of the cinematography of this Onsite Video. It just lends to the overall feel and mood we were trying to set. Watch the video.
